Henry and I are dividing up the work of vetting the non-instrumental expansions. Here is his first report: -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- From: HenryFogel@aol.com Subject: Re: More stuff To: kfogel@red-bean.com Date: Sun, 28 Nov 2004 19:52:38 EST Corrections (not many): Because it didn't give composers, I don't know how you are going to find these things easily; if I can guess composer, I will. LISZT: The various symphonic poems -- "Sym poem" has been changed to "symphony poem" -- and it needs to be "symphonic poem" in this case. The listings I found are as follows: (These are on page 25; I tell you that because it might be hard for you to find them -- if you need to - on this list, and it is 25/61 of the way through!) Ce qu'on entend sur la montagne - Sym Poem 1, changed to Symphony Poem 1 What One Hears on the Mountain (same) >From the Cradle to the Grave (same -- Sym Poem 13) Von der Weige bis zum Grabe (same) HOLMBOE: Sinfonia in Memorium (Sym Metamorfose - changed to Symphony Metamorfose) Should be changed to Symphonic Metamorfose. (page 22 of 61. HONNEGER: Pacific 231 - See: Mouvement Sym No. 1. "Sym" is changed here to Symphony, should be Symphonique. KOKKONEN: Sinfonisia luonnoksia - See: Sym Sketches: ("Sym" is changed to Symphony, should be changed to Symphonic). DIEPENBROCK: Elektra: Symphonic Suite -- Not Symphony Suite. (p. 18. COATES: Symphonic Rhapsody on 'I Pitch my lonely carafan", not "symphony rhapsody" Same as above for Sym Rhap on Rogers "Song in my heart" That's Page 31 down to 10. I'll do the rest later. H. -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- -*- From phone call with Henry: zap all sym poems zap all other sym metamorphoses zap all sinfonia concertante An example: these should be "concertante" of course: VIOTTI sinfonia con No. 1 in F for two violins and orch sinfonia con No. 2 in B-flat for two violins and orch Regarding umlauts: if searcher enters them, we should return error immediately. And from later email regarding 'chamber': Not a single error here -- but I did discover a new abbreviation that probably occurs in a few places. Intro for Introduction! If I've listed something as "intro" and someone searches for "introduction" they won't find any results. I note one of those here, by coincidence (because it also has "Var" in it), But I'll bet it's common elsewhere in here and Records. Oprec is apparently "poifect" :-).
